For the most part, the playstyle you pick first in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 revolves entirely around your preferences.
But if you’re new to the series, choosing Soldier is the most grounded and approachable playstyle. Its focus on combat, which plays a significant role in the main gameplay loop, allows for a more forgiving playthrough. That said, learning how to properly wield a melee weapon in this world proves challenging. It’s a combat system that requires practice and trial and error to understand and master.
If you’d rather use a bow and sneak past your enemies to complete objectives, opt for the Scout. You’ll want to play tactically, picking and choosing opportune moments to move and strike from the shadows.
Read a little more about each of the playstyles below before you vote.
Soldier
“I’m a soldier and Lord Capon’s bodyguard.”
Your standard heavy-hitter, the Soldier is a melee-focused playstyle designed to utilize weapons, shields, and heavy armor. It’s the most common playstyle for new players, as you’ll spend a lot of time in Henry’s shoes, engaged in one-on-one combat.
Adviser
“I’m an adviser to a nobleman and an envoy.”
If you’re the type to play a charisma-oriented build, talking and persuading your way through escapades, then the Adviser playstyle makes the most sense. It’s a dialogue-heavy playstyle designed for those who want to walk through the game world, head held high, with a silver tongue.
Scout
“I’m the scout of our company.”
Lastly, the Scout playstyle wields the darkness as a weapon. They sneak through the shadows, dealing critical damage with dagger strikes and ranged weaponry, moving silently and avoiding trouble when possible.
